====== CT calculations ======
Computer calculations have a long tradition at the Institute of Thermomechanics. As soon as the first
computers were first available, they were immediately put to use. First external hall computers, then minicomputers and calculators in the Institute of Thermodynamics.
then the PC era began, alpha servers were used for larger tasks and the first Cray supercomputer in the country.

Nowadays, PCs are used again and for larger tasks multiprocessor x86 servers and now cluster solutions.

Both specialized, tailor-made programs and commercial programs are used for computations in IT.
such as [[http://www.mathworks.com/|Matlab]], [[http://http://www.ansys.com/|ANSYS]], [[http://www.ansys.com/Products/Simulation+Technology/Fluid+Dynamics/ANSYS+Fluent|FLUENT]], and also a proprietary system for solving finite element problems, [[:computing:pmd:|PMD]], is being developed in-house.
